The City of Trees Marathon takes place the 2nd Saturday of October each year in Boise, Idaho. This year's event is Oct. 12th, 2024. In addition to a full marathon, there is also a Half Marathon, a 10K, and a 5K race. There's several ways to participate in the City of Trees Marathon besides running. You can volunteer at an aid station, donate to the non-profit group that runs the event, or stand along the route and cheer.
October is an excellent time to experience Boise. The race courses utilize the Boise Greenbelt system, offering scenic views along the Boise River and through the city’s tree-lined streets. The routes are designed to be both beautiful and challenging, with aid stations placed roughly every two miles.
